Officers were able to locate a small crane that was reported stolen after an increase in ANPR cameras.

The move is part of the Newark Safer Streets Project, a partnership between the Nottinghamshire Police and Detective Inspector, Nottinghamshire Police, Newark and Sherwood District Council and Nottinghamshire County Council to improve safety in areas that are particularly are affected by employment crimes such as burglary. Nottinghamshire officials were made aware that the van was in the area and after following it they stopped it on Stodman Street where they saw a small crane being transported.

The crane was found to have been reported stolen and three men, ages 18, 28 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of theft. They were released pending further investigation.
