By mid-November, the COVID-19 outbreak at the DeMay Living Center in Newark had grown to 72 residents and 46 employees.

As of December 2, these numbers had increased even further. There have been a total of 89 cases of residents and 52 employees with the virus.

The facility, which is operated by Rochester Regional Health, reported 37 employees were allowed back to work.

There have been a total of nine deaths at the facility associated with the virus.

RRH says they continue to screen employees for symptoms before they start their shift. If they show symptoms, they are not allowed to start work. They also use personal protective equipment and test weekly as directed by the New York State Department of Health.
