The San Francisco Giants reached agreements with right-hander Shun Yamaguchi on Saturday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Yamaguchi, 33, was recently designated for deployment by the Toronto Blue Jays and approved the exemptions earlier this week.

The native Japanese fought in his first season in the US with an 8.06 ERA in 17 reliefs for the Blue Jays 2-4. He gave up 28 hits and 17 walks in 25 2/3 innings. Yamaguchi turned down 26.
Prior to joining the Blue Jays, Yamaguchi spent 14 seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan. He went 64-58 with a 3.35 ERA in 427 appearances.
