Newark’s neighbors can once again help individuals or families in need this coming vacation weekend.

Cindy Grant, manager of the food bank, said that on April 1, Cornerstone Church will be handing out about 40 baskets of food to the vulnerable who are hoping for a lovely Easter meal.

While Newark Neighbors has all the food inventory to fill the obstacles, donations are still welcome.

“We can always use more donations for general groceries,” Grant said.

A list of foods Newark’s neighbors could stock their grocery bank with includes rice, canned salmon, canned chili or spaghetti or ravioli, canned beef stew, chunky soups (beef or chicken), creamy mushroom soup, canned red kidney beans, Canned ham, corned beef or spam, chicken, ham or turkey flakes, canned green beans, canned peas, sidekicks and Mr. Noodle packets, muesli (of any kind), muesli bars, Jell-O, jams, spices such as Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and green relish, plus coffee or tea.

Toiletries that Newark Neighbors might use include shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, paper towel, and toilet paper.

“We welcome all food donations,” said Grant.
