NEWARK, NJ – A pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Newark on Tuesday morning.
Adrian Bradford, 54, of Newark, was walking in the middle of the street on the 600 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue around 3 a.m. when she was hit by a Toyota Sienna. This resulted in a joint statement from the Essex County Attorney’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Bradford was pronounced dead on the scene at 3:38 a.m., authorities said.
The driver stayed at the scene, the police said.
The Essex County Attorney’s Office and the Newark Police Department are investigating the death. The driver has not been charged with a crime, authorities said on Wednesday.
