A Newark man was killed in a shooting in Paterson early Saturday night, according to the Passaic County Attorney’s Office.

21-year-old Jose Figueroa was found lying on the ground on Totowa and Redwood avenues in Paterson at around 6:57 p.m. with obvious gunshot wounds

Figueroa was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. He was later pronounced dead.

Almost seven hours earlier, a 44-year-old Paterson man was hit by a bullet in a residence at the same intersection.
