A Bergen County teenager, whose family ran a popular Italian restaurant, was shot dead in Newark, police said Monday.
McKayla Perri, 18, of Lyndhurst was shot and killed on Broad Street near 3rd Avenue late Friday and died in the university hospital just hours later, police said.
The police are offering a $ 10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
It was unclear why the teen was in Newark at the time of the shooting.
Perri graduated from Lyndhurst High School just five months ago.
The teen’s uncle runs Roma Ristorante in North Arlington, according to an obituary and the restaurant’s website.
