The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark man following an incident at the Seneca Meadows Landfill.

According to a press release, MPs were called to the Seneca Falls landfill to learn that a man had pointed a gun at another person.

An investigation found that Newark-born Stephen Friedel, 59, was pointing a gun at another person for no legitimate reason.

He was charged with second degree threats and was taken into custody without incident.

The MPs said Friedel would answer the charges at a later date.
