The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark man after a traffic obstruction on Hanley Road in Palmyra City.
According to MPs, 21-year-old Samuel Gilpin of Newark was stopped by MPs for illegally stopping his vehicle on the street. When the MPs spoke to him, they noticed a smell of alcohol, blurred speech and glassy eyes.
Gilpin then failed the on-site sobriety tests and declined a preliminary roadside breath test.
As a result, he was taken into custody and taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s office, where his BAC was 0.15%.
He was accused of driving drunk, driving with a BAC greater than 0.08%, stopping on the highway, and refusing to undergo a preliminary breath test.
