Dr. Mehmet Oz recalls the “miracle” that happened Monday at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey that resulted in his saving the life of a man.
The heart surgeon and talk show host helped resuscitate a 60-year-old man who collapsed at the airport Monday night. In an interview with Robin Roberts, co-host of “Good Morning America”, Dr. Oz the grim situation when he turned around and found the man on the ground surrounded by blood.
“I saw this gentleman had a face that was basically a pool of blood under his head where he hit the floor. I ran over, I couldn’t get a pulse, which is the first thing you check for. He didn’t respond, “said Dr. Oz.
From there, the TV personality said he rolled the man onto his back and noticed he was “purple – the color of an eggplant”. He called this a “bad combination” and started doing CPR.

Dr. Oz helped resuscitate a man who collapsed at the airport in New Jersey Monday night.
“It’s that moment when you realize you’re losing a life, so I started doing CPR, which is my training,” Oz continued, noting that nearby officers were also “rushing in” to help.
Oz explained to the audience the importance of doing chest compressions.
“If your heart isn’t beating, you have to do it like the chest compressions do. Press down at least two inches 100 times a minute, a simple message. Anyone hearing my voice can learn how to do this. ” today, “he said.
