According to the latest figures from Public Health England, three new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood.

Ashfield 9,570 (plus 7) Bassetlaw 8,042 (up 2) Broxtowe 7,104 (up 4) Gedling 8,121 (up 8) Mansfield 8,098 (up 27) Newark and Sherwood 7,218 (up 3) Rushcliffe 6,825 (up 1) Nottingham 30,411 (up 8) and Nottinghamshire 54,978 (to 52).

87 positive cases have been recorded in Newark and Sherwood in the past seven days. This corresponds to a slight decrease in the last seven days.

In the past 24 hours, no new deaths have been reported in Newark and Sherwood within 28 days of testing positive for the virus. Unfortunately, the total is 205.

According to the latest public data, 4,364,529 patients tested positive in the UK and 126,882 people died within 28 days of testing positive.

The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to and including April 5 is 31,622,367. The total for the second dose is 5,496,716.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced an easing of the national lockdown.

People can now meet outside in groups of up to six and travel to their friends and families to finally take up outdoor sports again.

The next easing of restrictions is due to take place on April 12th.
