According to the latest figures from Public Health England, 17 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood.

Ashfield 9,515 (plus 8) Bassetlaw 7,984 (plus 7) Broxtowe 7,048 (plus 8) Gedling 8,051 (plus 9) Mansfield 7,958 (plus 17) Newark and Sherwood 7,149 (plus 17) Rushcliffe 6,802 (plus 4) Nottingham 30,301 (plus 33) and Nottinghamshire 54,507 (to 70).

109 positive cases have been recorded in Newark and Sherwood in the past seven days. This represents a slight decrease in cases over the past seven days.

No new deaths have been reported in Newark and Sherwood within 28 days of testing positive for the virus in the past 24 hours. Unfortunately, the total is 203.

According to the latest public data, 4,337,696 patients tested positive in the UK and 126,615 people died within 28 days of testing positive.

The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to and including March 28th is 30,444,829. The total for the second dose is 3,674,266.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced an easing of the national lockdown.

People can now meet outside in groups of up to six and travel to their friends and families to finally take up outdoor sports again.

The next easing of the restrictions is due to take place on April 12th.
